The Government of Karnataka is bent upon taxing its citizen further by imposing a toll to state high ways which has very limited logic but just to lynch the citizen further. If they are to levy toll for all high ways then what should we paid road tax?

It is high time that we dispense with the corrupt regime of  B.S Yeddyurappa and bring in a new regime. Further, the CM has given a press statement that his rape accused ex-minister Ramesh Jarkholi will come out clean even before the investigation literally tells us what will be the outcome of the investigation.

THE US ELECTION AND ITS IMPACT IN INDIA

The highly polarized elections in the United States brings to the fore that the Afro-American community and Indian community within the United States commands substantial influence in the elections. The Whites too are very much divided over whom to vote. Biden gamble by influencing Indians and the Afro Americans did help him in the elections and his ultimate ascendancy to presidential chairs.  Ms. Kamala Harris did contribute to help Biden in influencing Indian Americans to vote in favor of Biden.

I think Trump’s failure to influence the Afro-Americans and Indian community was one of the reasons for his failure to get to the presidency the second time. Here he made very controversial statement on subjects such as Visa which looked as though he is being very tough for Indians. His recent speech he called the Indian most filthy and stinking also hurt the sentiments of the voters from Indian community who still holds half their foot back in India. His attendance in How di Modi or his Indian visit did not help him at all because by his blatant statements he undid all the goodwill he generated. It is therefore necessary for people like Trump to be cautious before making any statements.

The police atrocities on a African by a police officers also polarized the votes in favor of the Joe Biden as he did extensive campaigning in states with high density of Afro-American and the democrats trump card was to the campaigning of Barrack Obama which fetched rich dividends within Africans community as he too belong to them and his presidency  is still regarded as one of the best in American recent history.

Finally, the pathetic handling of corona crises which crippled the health care within American and informed the people of America with how in adequate is their health care facilities when the government has been boasting of large spends in infrastructures. Even smaller nations like Vietnam did better than United States in tackling COVID-19 Crisis. All this an more the anti-incumbency factors was evident when we looks at the voting patterns in this elections.

We must credit Mr. Trump with all this against he did extremely well and the republican polled well and it was only by narrow margins did JOE Biden Edge him.

Finally coming back to our topic of how the US elections will impact India and what will be our Prime Ministers chemistry with the new President. As our Prime Ministers Chemistry with Trump is highly talked off within India and American. Ideally this relationship with the next American President should also continued as American will be keen to ally with India in the Asia to take on China. In fact Joe Biden should will be more lenient because back home too he has to make it look that he is favoring them as they are become too  to be ignored which will reflect on the democrats in future elections.

For India we continue have excellent relationship with the future president of United States and move on from Trump Charms. I feel Biden will be more sensible to take this relationship with Modiji forward American Interest as well.

Never in the history of United States has the political mosaic be so polarized in this elections. A developed country, in fact  it heads as leader amongst forward nations fears violence in the aftermath of result of this elections in itself, an Indication that all is not well within America as the shops and business establishment has closed down fear looting as we saw during the Afro- Amercian protest where the protestors were seen looting. This also tells us how Vulnerable is this” Great Country”.

However cynical we are US still continues to be beacon of hope for all the countries wanting adopt democratic process within their political theatre in the times to come. They still are one of the finest examples of a successful democracy that is working despite vast difference and cultural divides.

Is Federal Structure of Our Democracy A Bane or Boon ?

We see states passing legislation against central law has become a practice today. The first legislature to do it is Kerala which passed legislation against CAA Article 131  without even bothering to understand that it does not come under the State list as such the legislation is illegal and hence not binding.

Likewise, we have seen every other bill that the center brings are vetoed by the State the latest in the list is the Farm Bill 2020 which empowers and protects  farmer under sec 6. The bill says States cannot charge market fee, cess etc., The entry -33  which originally meant for tackling scarcity of essential commodities, hoarding and irrational and never for the purpose intended in Farm Bill. This being the third amendment should have come under the separate entry and not merged with the 33rd entry under the concurrent list which not done. Having we must debate whether absolute federalism coming in the way of strong governance as our political parties is without understanding refuses central bill which in a way will affect the democratic systems of governance and that cannot be tolerated. Regional parties and Regional Satraps are questioning by passing Legislations against Centre bills are questioning the very constitution which is the edifice of our democratic system of governance.

The political theatre of India is highly divided with most of NON BJP states up in arm and against Central Government and most of the time the ruling BJP  is also to be blamed as they use their absolute majority in Lok-Sabha to rush in new bills as per their parties manifesto without proper debate on the subject. There is no co-ordination between the Government and the opposition. The opposition too has no mature leadership  and more often then not Rahul Gandhi half knowledge on subjects has put the congress on embarrassment and the senior congressmen are asked to defend him.

To conclude I think we must involve the judiciary and inform all concerned that States cannot overrule Centre’s  ruling  by state legislation on subjects which is not in the State list and if done is against the constitution and hence their Government can be dismissed. This kind of ruling if given by courts will deter the brazen attitude of the State’s leader or Regional leaders from such misadventures to suit their political compulsions. This will also check the states from transgressing their domain and entre areas which belongs to Centre.

I am also of an opinion that some senior parliamentarian within BJP should tell the leadership that they must take the opposition to confidence before enacting bills. Constructive debate will enhance the goodwill of the government and will strengthen our democratic traditions followed by us since independence.

Finally, both the Ruling and opposition leaders should show the sagacity and uphold the democratic form of governance which is in the interest of all.

Coming back to my question  “Absolute federalism a bane or boon in a democratic country like ours”?  Let us debate.

Understanding Predestination- A research

We are often compelled to ponder over what we are destined to be in life and we knock the doors of the astrologers to find out what is in store for us in the coming days, month and years and we are often given to understand it will be either good or bad as per our the horoscope that we submit to him. We also ask the astrologer what will our children become in their lives? We try to program the life of our children based on astrological suggestions we get, which might not be of interest to our children. Why are we simply pushing them to do things our way since they are in our direct control? Many a time these children will not use knowledge they have got through studies and tend to do things what interest them.  some because of financial and family pressure do things the way we have programmed them and emerge as also ran. Those who run in the opposite side of the most treaded path becomes Stars, Celebrities and famous people. We have people like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs to name a few. When we question the rationale behind this we were told by our elders and gurus that we become what we are predestined for.

If we are all predestined than most of will wonder why should one have to work so hard to achieve, wealth, health, fame in their chosen field of activity. Considering our life is a fully prepared play and we are here only to    it then one can take it easy and not brood over studies etc, because anyways things will happen on it own and we have absolutely no control over it.
In the event the above statement is not true then what is Predestination? Let us examine them and understand them as per different cultural and spiritual postulations like the Vedas, the Upanishad and other relevant Hindu scriptures. let us also dwell into Biblical, Islamic and Jewish scriptures to understand it.
Let us find out if any one of the religious takes on predestination has acceptance and relevance to us today. As the old saying goes “ thoughts are but a slave of time” and it is therefore necessary to do a research on such complex subject such “Predestination”
As per Bhgavat Gita our Poorva- janma Karma and partly our deeds in this life are the yard stick to decide what your predestination will be- Srimad Bhagavat Gita Chapter 3, The Karma Yoga says that,

“Everyone must engage in some sort of activity in this material world. But actions can either bind one to this world or liberate one from it. By acting for the pleasure of the Supreme, without selfish motives, one can be liberated from karma”

There is story in Bhagavat Purana of Ajamila who had committed many evil deeds in his life time such as Stealing, abandoning his wife and children and marrying a Prostitute and other illegitimate things that should have warranted stronger back lash in the next birth but the god willed otherwise just because he involuntarily chanted the name of Narayana and therefore received Moksha in other words Union with God. This defies the logic of “ You get what you sow “ Here god became pleased just because he said his name even though involuntary and gave him salvations.
The theistic view, the effects of one’s bad Karma can be mitigated by following the Dharma or living Virtuously; performing goods deeds, such as  Dhana, Bhakti or going to sacred places such as Varanasi or Rameswaram, taking the dip in Ganges to get rid of the past sins and to get the grace of god. The story of Ajamilla given above actually Illustrates this point.
Here we must also refer to a verse in “Shvetshvatra Upanishad” which says that the supreme who grace the devotees provides a way of escape from the law of Karma. This simply means to me “Law of Entitlement” just by pleasing Almighty. I sometime wonder especially after reading some commentaries of our scripture that Gods can be pleased so easily that they resort forgiving the sinners if they pray for salvations. Do they like sycophancy and reward wrong people which according to me is illogical.
On the Theistic beliefs in cycle of Creations where souls gravitate to specific bodies in accordance with their Karma in their past life; which according to believers is helped or guided by god as by themselves are not intelligent enough to do it on their own. Here poorva Janma Karma dictates and god also helps in deciding  what our pre-destination will be.
According to Kaushitaki Upanishad verse 1.2  claims that Birth in different forms of existence such as worm, insect, fish, bird , Lion, boar, snake or Human being are determined by the person’s deeds in their past life and knowledge.
“There are three categories of Prarabdha Karma, Ichha, Anichha and Parechha which means, Personally desired, without Desire and desire due to others. For a person who has realized self-there is Icha-Prarabdha but to the two others, Anichha and Parechha remain. Neither agency or actions does the lord create for the world, nor union with the fruits of action. but it is nature that acts” says lord Krishna in Bhagavat Gita Chapter 5 Verse 14.
As per Devi Bhagavatam 1.5. 42-46(Page) “Brahma Says “Whatever auspicious or inauspicious is ordained fate, everyone must bear that no one can go beyond fate. When one has taken up a body, he or she must experience pleasure and pain and there is no doubt about this argument.  See, in the long past days by irony of fate, S’ambhu severed my head, his generative organ too dropped down through curse. Similarly, Hari’s head has today fallen into the salt ocean. By the influence of time Indira, the lord of Sachi had thousand genital marks over his body was expelled from Heaven and had to live in the Manas Sarovar in the lotuses and had to suffer of many other miseries.
Let us know understand Predestination through the teaching of Bible.
I think according to Bible it is clear that” Predestination is the doctrine that all events have been willed by God, Usually with reference to the eventual fate of the individual soul. Explanations of predestination often seeks to address the “Paradox of free will” whereby Gods omni presence seems incompatible with human free will.
When we turn the pages of the bible to check if it speaks on predestination, I came across the terms predestined used nearly four times in two of Paul’s Epistles. Here’s what inspired the apostle who said
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His Purpose. For whom He Foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first born amongst many brethren. Moreover, who He predestined, these He also called: whom He predestined, these He also called: whom he called these He also justified: and whom He justified, these he also glorified (Roman 8:28-30)
Who Are the Predestined?
Indeed, the Bible does speak of predestination. The second Paul's epistles. Says-
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth-in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will... (Ephesians 1:3-11)”.
At the first look it we may think that the passages referred herein above is in conformity with the West Minister Confession of Fate but when we dig deep into the biblical passages on the divine plan of salvation we can understand the authors of the confession have wrongly interpreted the above scriptures.
The term predestination means "to mark out beforehand," and refers to the plan and goal of salvation itself, not to specific individuals. It should be understood in the corporate sense, rather than in the sense that each Individuals were predestined to either eternal life or eternal condemnation.
Coming to Islamic faith also tells us the same things and they too are clear that nothing happens without the will of Allah. The nearest definitions given is that predestination is a necessary factor in the Islamic faith. In Islampredestination or fate means that Allah is the one who has pre-destined everything
Judaism or the Jewish philosophy agrees with the concept of gods hand on creation but Torah is clear about one aspect “ One is responsible for his own actions”
Everything we know from the Torah – especially the idea of reward and punishment for our actions – confirms that a person is responsible for his own actions and that God is not responsible for the good or evil that a person does”.
In nutshell while all these holy scriptures are divergent in their views on other aspect of life but on predestination they seem to agree that the will of the god stands supreme and he has already programmed our life we just have to live the life to its entirety and things will unfold automatically and we do not have any hold over our lives.
I feel disappointed at the thought that we a human race are in this earth to only act in a play which is already written from start to the finish. Even this is to be true it is very difficult to digest because how can we have a god who creates people who are rich and poor, fame and faceless, Healthy and Sick, Happy & Sad and finally Beautiful and Ugly. Why is he being so partisan if he is the authors of the whole play why cant we have only Hero”s and Heroines then why villain (Good & Bad).
I too feel why can’t we have Doctors only who give life then, why do we have Murderers who take life as well.
If I must believe predestination and accept it than should I sit at home and not work or send my children to school because anyways they will only become why they are destined for. Rhen why push them in scoring good marks for academic excellence.
Many of us our own journey seen that a school dropout who will become good businessman and academically brilliant candidate will work under this school dropout. If we are to say it is destiny or predestination of each of us, then what about our own effort and struggle to attain excellence in our own spheres of study or work.
I for one think that predestination might be true and closer to truth is our own ancient Hindus philosophy which stresses on Proova Janma Karma for what we are in this life. Here is a Sanskrit verse which is generally written as Garbha in our horoscope—
“JANANI JANMA SOUKYA NAAM, VARDHINI KAULA SAMPADAM, PADAVI POORVA PUNYANAM LIKETHE JANM A PATRI KAM”
If you study this text very carefully it is amply clear that we are responsible for our own self and god doesn’t have time for all this. Here it like telling you if you do well and get marks you will attain academic brilliance, similarly to get wealth you should apply this education and for status you need to groom yourself and don’t depend upon god to do it.
I conclude by saying that we don’t know what we were in our previous life and we will not be aware what we will be in our next life but we can always ensure that we only do good things in this life whether it will rewarded in our next outing in this planet or not, we will always be remembered as a good person or a noble soul by the posterity. Thereby we will be communicating healthy culture and values for the posterity.
As for the ordinary soul predestination or not life goes on in its own inimical style for them,
“Life is an enigma, a quiz, imponderable problem and very few can answer it correctly and yet things get solved in the ultimate analysis and that is the beauty of life.”

RAHUL GANDHI EMERGING AS MASS LEADER

RAHUL GANDHI HAS EMERGED AS A LEADER

One really can predict the outcome of Gujarat Assembly Elections held recently as the BJP has used all its resources under its belt to beat the tsunami  that emerged of the Congress who has aligned with the pattadar leader ship was definitely a highlight of this election. BJP might have  won the election not without some collateral damage in their vote share vis-à-vis the last election.

What is quite fascinating is the emergence of Rahul Gandhi as mass leader and it was a right decision for the Congress to appoint him as their Party President. While it might have been a foregone conclusion that he will one day become the party president, the timing of his elevation is just right. I personally feel that he has worked his way to the top.  His aggressive posturing and taking the opposition to task, his many jab at the Prime Minister NARENDRA MODI  has been note worthy, for he is evolving himself as a  mass leader.

I think there has been a makeover in him since the last lok sabha elections. Even though the aggression should have been his inborn and hereditary traits, as his great grandfather and grandmother personified aggression in their times. His father too was also very strong and brave at times.  It is natural he should have inherited these qualities from them. But truly speaking no he did not have any of these qualities when he entered in politics. All his aggressive posturing that he is exhibiting today is the byproduct of his learning over the years. A glimpse at at his Initial years would tell the story.   He was very docile and took many years for him to utter a word in the parliament. He was even childish at times and lacked tact in dealing with people and press.  He once told the media that he would have become the Prime Minister of India when he was 25 years old if he wanted to. Not even knowing there is a age criteria for one to become a PM of this August Republic!

it took the senior congress leader  to defend him stating he was quoted out of context. This was not the only incidence but there are many faux paus that he attempted! At times he spoke against the party line, not that he defied the party line, but by not knowing what his party line was?  He was just ignorant not suitable for politics at all. I can qualify my statement by giving various other instances of his utterance of absolute nonsense. Many cartoons have reflected his varying behavior and personality at that point of time in so many different ways.

Here we must say it has not been easy for Rahul Gandh either  as it was for Indira or Rajeev. He was neither as smart or charismatic as Indira or Rajeev . His entry  as a most reluctant entrant to the field of politics at a very young age .The congress  party not having the requisite number propelled people like Manmohan Singh  for the high post of the premier and did not want to risk with a youngster like Rahul taking on the mantle because they were not sure of him and did not want to test waters like the way  they did in his father’s case. Because then they were sure of Rajeev and his charisma. As such we can say Rahul has really worked his way by understanding the politics under the steward ship of Manmohan Singh and others during congress regime.  Thereafter he has been in the opposition. We must admit that he did not aspire for any ministerial position like his grandmother who was Information & Broadcasting Minister under Lalbhadur Sashtri.  I would say he has been a keen learner and has kept his ambition under wraps as otherwise he could had enough powers during  Congress rule and could have ruled India through a proxy like Manmohan Singh. At times as any youngster he did go overboard in criticizing his own Prime Minister! This is but natural. When we look at children of even corporaters  and MLA running parallel government asking IAS officer and Government authorities by  giving direct  orders. He was far more balanced and non interfering type.  This quality  needs to be understood and appreciated.

Finally I strongly feel he must be given a chance to rule this country not because he is from the Gandhi kandaan but more by his own right, as a politician who has worked really hard for the party in the polls at most crucial stage, when the party was out of power in most states except in Karnataka and few states. He is now has taken over as President of Indian National Congress which I am sure will emerge successful  and stronger under his leader ship or with other parties supporting it. He is the ideal candidate for the premier ship of India.

Having said all this, the next two years or so will be very crucial for him to carefully plan for the big election and nurture the party and make it battle ready by bringing in some quorum within the party platform and promoting local leadership at districts level. Infusing young blood and sending the veterans home gracefully, unlike what the BJP done with their senior party member. They  has dumped the veterans into the oblivion which has deprived party and the government of their valuable advises as the present including the Mr.Narendara Modi  lacks experience of handling the central government save and except , Sushma Swaraj, Jaitley and few others all the rest as as good as a new entrant. This is the sole reason for the government to go astray and many of their bills being returned.

Finally let us look forward to another rising son from the Gandhi Family take on the mantle and become our leader.  It is time for us to send the BJP to the place they belong to. BJP whose policy is for the rich, by the rich, and of the rich, deserves a marching order. For we don’t want  our Children, our Parents and finally our own self to  stand on queues, to en-cash our hard earned money. While the black marketer’s makes merry by saying Happy Demonetization. We also don’t want a financial emergency imposed on us by the Banks, where a depositor has to strip himself to explain where he has got the funds from to make a basic deposit, while Industrialist like Ambanis and their likes, enjoy themselves at the Lutens along with Modi & Company. While we definitely need a change and review of our old policies to keep breast with the changing  times but we don’t want changes that will change the very course of India’s policies which was carefully formulated by the founding fathers of our constitution and carried on by equally able leaders from time to time.  Look at  “Non Alignment, Equi distance with the two superpower”  which are phonemically futuristic and this basic aspects are being tampered with by the present dispensation which doesn’t augur well for future of India.   Let us all remember that” We are a democracy and would like to be one in future too”. So let us say  Bye Bye to the  BJP….Adieu  Congress under Rahul’ Gandhi.

AIADMK " HEADLESS CHICKEN " AFTER JAYALALITA' Present Crisis

The present crisis in Tamil nadu is the byproduct of blunders that the people of Tamil Nadu did with their votes by choosing Hero, Heroine's & Script Writer over seasoned leader from the world of politics. It is here they erred and that fatal error has brought Tamil Nadu to the brink of constitutional breakdown.

Hero worship in India started in Tamil Nadu with advent  M.G Ramachandran popularly called MGR  or Vadiyar in Tamil films. The then Dravida Kazagam (DK) used his charisma to garner votes and he was used extensively by the party as that was the  sure way to win elections. While the people of the State did not know politician well but casted their votes because MGR supported or canvassed for the candidate.

The Ideological differences between its cadres brought in the split while one part became Dravida Munnetra Kazagam(DMK) and the other became AIl India Dravida Munetra Kazagam and this faction was headed by MGR and that became a formidable force to reckon with in Tamil Nadu. They swept the polls and Actor MGR became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and first perhaps in Indian politics since Independence. MGR had earned the title Makkal Tilakam meaning darling of the masses and all his policies can be likened to the roles that he played in his movies "do good, better, best" while the state finances was not enough for doling out goodies, freebies etc., as such the coffers became empty and year after year they would seek grant from the center towards deficits shown in the budget .

While stating all this there was some amount of honesty in MGR approach as he was not corrupt and had everything Money ,Fame , Power name it he had it! only very few people would be blessed with such opulence. but that was not the case with his successors namely Jayalalitha who ambitions to make riches was seen in the first terms as Chief Minister she was joined by another aggressive woman Sashi Kala Natarajan both together plundered Tamil Nadu . They were called "Walking Jewellery Stores" in common parlance. The people of Tamil Nadu became aware of their folly and defeated this team by routing AIADMK in the subsequent election and elected DMK who regime was also resorted mass corruption but they fixed their opponent Jayalalitha & Sashi Kala and both of them were sent to Jail in the early 1990s but in the next election Jayalalitha bounced back and electoral fortunes on her side made her the Chief Minister again.
Once bitten twice shy she kept her aide Sashi kala away from her Governance and tried her best to salvage her image but the past always comes back and it haunted her during her second term and third terms sending her to occasion Jail life and finally when she did plenty of good things to the people of Tamil Nadu by doling Pandoraboxes in Kitchen, Amma Mess, Mid day Meals for poor and needy. BPL Card with almost negliable  amount to paid for rations revived her image and she became the 'AMMA for Tamil People". Finally her health gave way and she passed away leaving AIADMK dry and not grooming anybody to take her place.

The lady from Mannargudi who was with Jayalalita saw her death as opportunity  to climb up the ladder and become the Chief Minister of Tamil nadu there by showing her association with the dead as her legacy that she wanted to carry forward. The filp part of it was Jaya did not recognize Sashi Kala as her political heir and did not want her to plung into politics. While she gave her enough wealth and love a place in her Poes Garden but not in Politics and after her initial arrest she kept all the Sashi Kala relatives at arm length and did not entertain them at her house at all. This became a stumbling block for her elevation.
Finally it was the judiciary who helped the people of Tamil nadu from this corrupt Politician Mrs.Sashi Kala by giving a adverse verdict in the case related to disproportionate assets case where she along with Jayalalitha was declared found guilty while Jaya is accused no 1, Sashi Kala became accused no 2, sharing her present stay at the central jail along side Criminals otherwise the wise legislators of the AIADMK would have made this Corrupt person the Chief of the State.

Who will become the Chief minister is the point of reference how soon he will come out of the clutches of this wicked woman is the question.  Secondly atleast after this bitter experience will the people of Tamil Nadu wake up from their slumber or will they slip into comma time will tell.

I think that much has been written about this honest officer who has taken cudgels against corrupt minister who has been haunting all along but no actions has been taken against him or other's mentioned by Anupama Shenoy. The Home Minister attitude of telling the media that she is not my high command cautioning her that he is the boss is very regressive. He is seen more of chauvinistic than liberal .The Chief Minister tried yet another white wash by summoning the Minister more for publicity than with intent.

Karnataka is in a sorry state of affair with Congress Government with honest officer either dying under mysterious circumstances -- ala Ravi or resigning like our valiant Anupama.
Very Bad Precedent by any standards
